BIOREAL Organic Fresh Yeast

Better for you. Better for the environment.

To produce conventional yeast, chemical nitrogen sources such as ammonia, ammonia salts and lyes as well as acids including sulphuric acid, synthetic vitamins and growth substances are used.

Unlike conventional yeast, BIOREAL organic yeast is produced using organic cereals without the use of chemical additives during fermentation.  Better for you.

Since no chemical additives are used, BIOREAL organic yeast needs no rinsing either, so no chemically contaminated waste water is produced from this way of production. Better for the environment.

A further benefit is that the organic fermentation medium also forms the basis of additional baking products such as sponge or yeast sourdough starter.

This way of production is particularly eco-friendly and sustainable. For this reason, BIOREAL organic yeast is certified nationally and internationally by organic certification.

Using Organic Fresh Yeast

BIOREAL organic fresh yeast can be used like conventional live yeast. As a guide, for a 500g loaf you will need on average 10g of fresh yeast but please follow quantities as stipulated in your recipe. Do not try to 'activate' with water/sugar first, place in directly with your other dough ingredients.

Despatch of Live Yeast

Please Note: We do not despatch live yeast on a Friday since it would die a slow and lingering death in the courier's depot over the weekend. If you place an order after 11am Thursday which includes live yeast, please allow for the fact that your whole order will be held until despatch the next working day (usually Monday).
