We are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Our thoughts are with the The Royal Family at this incredibly sad time as we join the nation in mourning the loss of our beloved Sovereign.

May she rest in peace.

Standard Delivery Charges

Our standard charge for delivery on orders up to a value of £29.99 is £6.00.

Regrettably, there is a surcharge for Northern Ireland, Eire and areas considered "more remote" by the courier company. This does not reflect the true cost of delivering to these areas which is heavily subsidised by Shipton Mill. Please see "Northern Ireland and Remote Areas" below for further information.

Want Free Delivery?

We offer Free Delivery to most parts of the country on order values of £30 or more up to a maximum weight of 100kg.

Please Note: Regrettably there is no free delivery to Northern Ireland, Eire and areas considered "more remote" by the courier companies - for further information please see "Northern Ireland and Remote Areas" below.

What If My Items Are Not In Stock?

In the unlikely event a product is out of stock and if it is likely to remain unavailable for longer than a week Shipton Mill Ltd will refund the value of that product and despatch the remainder of the order.

Where Do You Deliver To?

We deliver to the UK mainland. This includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Deliveries to places such as Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Eire, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly and Isle of Wight will usually take two working days from despatch and will be subject to a surcharge.

Flour Direct does not routinely deliver to addresses outside the United Kingdom. As an exception, Flour Direct does deliver to the Republic of Ireland.

If you are outside the UK, but would like to order flour from Shipton Mill, please see International Shipping at the bottom of this page for indicative costs, how to request a quote and order.

How Will My Order Be Delivered?

Orders from Flour Direct are despatched by 3rd party courier service.

All deliveries will be made via courier service and a signature is needed to ensure the safe arrival of your purchase. Once you receive notification from Parcelforce, you may request alternative date, delivery to a neighbour or local post office.

If your order is large enough to be sent in two or more bags or boxes, please be advised that, despite the best efforts of our courier service to keep them together, it is possible that they may become separated and arrive at different times.

Orders for 10 or more sacks will generally be sent on a pallet.

Please note our packaging is not waterproof and therefore is likely to be spoiled by inclement weather if left out. Please see advice below on what to do if you are likely to be out when the courier company delivers.

When Will My Order Be Delivered?

Please ensure you check the confirmation screen after payment as only orders with 'paid' status can be sent, if your order does not have a paid status please contact us.

Shipton Mill Ltd will endeavour to process and despatch your order within 3-5 working days. For orders received before 11am we will do our utmost to deliver next working day. This is our aim. But our ability to achieve this will depend on when your order is received, availability of stock, how many orders we have had that day AND the ability of the courier to meet the deadlines.

We will certainly endeavour to get your order out within 24 hours so that you should receive it within 2 working days. Many, indeed most, of our deliveries are made the next working day.

Delivery times are typically from 7:00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday, but at busy times these hours may be extended. Following confirmation of your order, you will receive updates via text and/or e-mail from the courier regarding PREDICTED (not guaranteed) time of delivery.

Should a Saturday delivery be required please contact Shipton Mill Ltd and place your order over the phone as Saturday deliveries carry a surcharge.

In extremely busy periods, the courier may deliver from certain depots over the weekend, we are not able to influence this at all but their communications will keep you up to date.

What If I'm Not in When The Courier Company Delivers?

In the event that you are out when they attempt delivery, the courier will follow your delivery selection (neighbour/different day/Post Office) if made whilst the order is in transit, otherwise they will leave a card and attempt the next working day.

What If I Live in Northern Ireland, Eire or a Remote Area?

Sadly we, like many other UK companies, are subject to the charges applied by courier companies to deliver to postcodes deemed further afield by the courier. As a company however, we are very keen to support bakers throughout the UK and unlike some other companies we heavily subsidise this additional charge.

Naturally charges will depend on the size of an order; for the average Flour Direct box sent to remote postcodes we absorb £12 of the cost but regretfully we have to pass the remainder on to the customer. We are only a small company and on most of our orders to these postcodes our company actually makes a loss. Despite this, our philosophy is to continue to deliver the best possible flour and service to customers regardless.

It is regrettable that in more remote areas as defined by the couriers, the standard delivery is two days regardless of how quickly we despatch your order from The Mill. We would kindly request that you factor these timescales into your ordering as we would hate you to run out of flour at a critical moment.

Variable Charges:
For Northern Ireland, and Scottish Highlands and Islands

Standard delivery charges apply with a delivery surcharge of £6. Delivery will take two working days following despatch from the mill.

For Eire

Standard delivery charges apply with a delivery surcharge of £12.

We are able to deliver flour to the Republic of Ireland via Parcelforce's Euro-Priority service, delivery is usually within 4 working days of despatch from the mill.
For orders placed on our website, we make every effort to include the applicable duty and tax, however there may be additional local duties and taxes that are out of Shipton Mill’s control that you may need to pay in order to receive the goods.
Almost all of our products can be shipped to the Republic of Ireland, with the exception of Olive Oil and Fresh yeast.

For Channel Islands and Isle of Man

Standard delivery charges apply with a delivery surcharge of £6. Delivery will take two working days following despatch from the mill.

International Shipping (Domestic Customers)

Whilst we are of course delighted to ship flour to enthusiastic bakers all over the world, there is no getting away from the costs of sending heavy parcels overseas. Understandably many customers find the costs prohibitive. If however, you live overseas and would like to purchase flour in domestic quantities from us, please contact us on the following email address for a quotation: enquiries@shipton-mill.com.

Rates are per parcel with a maximum weight of 25kg per parcel - what we are able to fit into a parcel will depend on the products and sizes ordered. Current boxes will fit up to 12 x 1kg or one 16kg sack or one 25kg sack.

Customs charges may be applicable in certain areas. These charges are not included in the above charges and the customer is responsible for determining whether customs charges apply and for fulfilment.

In accordance with the prices we are charged by our courier, all parcels will be subject to volumetric conversion and the shipment charge will be based on the volumetric or the actual weight, whichever is the greater.

Proceeding with an Overseas Order

If you would like to go ahead with an order or are enquiring about a destination further afield, please contact us for a quotation at enquiries@shipton-mill.com. Please detail exactly the type of flour, quantity and size of bag(s)/sack(s) you wish to purchase and the address for shipping in order that we can request an accurate quotation from our couriers.

International Shipping (Trade/Bulk Customers)

For trade or bulk shipments overseas we ship only to a UK shipper appointed and arranged by you the customer. Payment is by bank transfer only. For all trade enquiries please email enquiries@shipton-mill.com
