Ingredients : makes 9-10.
500g white bread flour
50g caster sugar
5g dried yeast
10g salt
150g warm milk
225g melted butter
1 egg.
Filling:
25g butter
100g caster sugar
200g dried fruit.
pinch all spice
Method:
mix together the flour, yeast,salt,milk, butter and the egg to form a sticky dough. Turn out and kneed to a smooth consistency.
Rise until doubled, Knock back and roll out into a rectangle roughly 60x40mm.
Mix the filling toghter and sread evenly over the dough , leaving a 30 mm gap to the long edges to allow rolling.
Roll into a sausage and cut evenly into equal rounds.
Place these in a high sided tin spaced so that they just touch when risen.
Rise again until just double.
Bake for approx 20 mins until golden and cooked through.
Glaze with a milkand sugar glaze.
place on a wire rack and serve warm.
