Blackberry and apple crumble

Oven temperature: 200 c

Cooking time: 45 minutes

For the filling

900 g bramley apples, peeled, cored and chopped

350g-400 g blackberries

120 g demerara sugar

2 lemons

Filling preparation

Make sure the apples are bramleys to give that tart taste. The basic preparation method is to mix everything together, though you may with to slightly pre-cook the bramleys beforehand to soften them slightly.

For the topping

450 g plain flour

350 g butter

200 g demerara sugar

250 g porridge oats

Topping preparation

Rub the butter into the flour to create breadcrumb mixture, then add the other ingredients.

Layer the topping on top of the filling and put in a preheated oven (200 C) and cook for 45 minutes.
