Ingredients
- 1+1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon yeast
- 4 cups strong bread flour
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 teaspoon sugar
Method
- mix all ingreadients in a bowl and prove until double in size
- knock it down and divide the dough into small dough of 120gram each
- shape each piece into a round,
- coat a finger in flour, gently press your finger into the centre of the dough to form a ring
- stretch the ring to about 3cm dia
- let them prove in fridge overnight or at least 6 hours.
- after 6 hours or overnight, move them out to rest for 30 mins
- use a wide deep pan, add 2 table of honey or brown suger, golden syrup and top up water, bring it to boil
- pre-heat oven for 200 (fan oven)
- put each bagel dough 3-4pcs (according to the size of your pan), boil them 30seconds each side
- move them to a baking them, egg wash and sprinkle poppy seeds or any seeds you'd prefer
- bake in oven for 16 mins until sound hollow when tapping
