  • 1+1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon yeast
  • 4 cups strong bread flour
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 teaspoon sugar


  1. mix all ingreadients in a bowl and prove until double in size
  2. knock it down and divide the dough into small dough of 120gram each
  3. shape each piece into a round,
  4. coat a finger in flour, gently press your finger into the centre of the dough to form a ring
  5. stretch the ring to about 3cm dia
  6. let them prove in fridge overnight or at least 6 hours.
  7. after 6 hours or overnight, move them out to rest for 30 mins
  8. use a wide deep pan, add 2 table of honey or brown suger, golden syrup and top up water, bring it to boil
  9. pre-heat oven for 200 (fan oven)
  10. put each bagel dough 3-4pcs (according to the size of your pan), boil them 30seconds each side
  11. move them to a baking them, egg wash and sprinkle poppy seeds or any seeds you'd prefer
  12. bake in oven for 16 mins until sound hollow when tapping
