Fantastic porridge from organic pinhead oats

I have always cooked porridge from rolled oats but after I read about the benefits of using pinhead oats, I decided to give it a go and IT IS SO MUCH NICER! We make ours with berries and honey and everyone loves it.

Ingredients

1 cup of pinhead oats

3,5 cups of water

bowl of berries ( I use frozen berries - strawberries+blackberries+black&red currants+raspberries, use as much as you like)

1-2 tbsp honey

50g butter

Method

Put oats and water in a pan and leave to heat up slowly until bubbling. Stir often and cook for 20-25 minutes, covered and on low heat. Then add the berries and honey, mix, cover again and leave to heat up again as the berries will cool the porridge very quickly. When the porridge is hot again, turn off the heat and add the butter, mix and leave to melt. Mix again to allow the butter to spread evenly and enjoy!
