HIGHLANDS & ISLANDS DELIVERY CHARGE
Given the very high charges that couriers impose on deliveries to the Highlands & Islands or Offshore (Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, Northern Ireland and Eire) destinations and in order to ensure that you can still buy the best flour, your order will be sent by the Royal Mail.
This service takes a little longer but is much more cost effective. As Shipton Mill is subsidising the postage to these regions we would appreciate it if orders are made in the quantities as follows:
6kg Postage charge: £5
12kg Postage charge £5
18kg Postage charge £5
Larger orders will be charged at £15 Please allow 3-5 working days for delivery
And now for something a little bit greener. Well more orange in fact.
This months star seeds:
Organic Carrots
Local food doesn’t get any more local than that produced in your own garden or your own allotment. Having said that you can also produce quite large quantities of food in a window box or in a small courtyard garden or patio area.
Many herbs and vegetables can easily be grown in small pots on a windowsill. Whilst you may not get enough to feed the 5000 just knowing that the flavours in your meal came from the herbs in your own kitchen or that the carrots that you picked with a grandchild or small sibling and are now eating will bring untold pleasure.
At Shipton Mill where local and organic are incredibly important. Over the next few months we will be selecting and sending out a range of organic seeds to try and tempt some of you into producing your own.
You could try using the delivery box as a germination tray using the bag that it may have come in as a waterproof liner (disposing of this carefully afterwards) and then plant the seedlings out once they have become established. Whatever you do, please recycle the box once you have finished with it.
