This is the most delicious, healthy, moist but light spelt bread for breadmakers. It has a little wholemeal wheat flour in to improve the crumb. The bread stays moist and lovely for several days and also makes excellent toast.
This is for a 750g loaf:
285ml water into bottom of breadmaker
pour a slug of olive oil on top
Pour on top 450g of flour MADE UP OF 150g white spelt flour, 200g wholemeal spelt flour, and 100g wholemeal (regular wheat) flour.
Then in different piles on top of the flour put:
1 dsp sugar
1.5 tsp salt
1 tsp dried yeast
Seeds of all kinds optional (usually use some combination of the following: milled flax seed, pumpkin seed, sunflower seed, poppy seed, carraway seed).
Set breadmaker to setting for normal bread. For Kenwood GM 450 I use programme 2 which is ready in only 2 hours 45 minutes!
