White bread using sourdough starter and yeast
A delicious way to use up extra sourdough starter
Preheat oven to 175C.
Cream together 180g butter and 180g caster sugar until fluffy and white.
Add 3 eggs and mix in.
Add 100g unused sourdough starter...fresh is better but it can be completely flat and still be ok.
Stir in 180g self raising flour.
Put in a greased loaf tin. Sprinkle top with mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped up apples...to taste.( one cooking apple, tablespoon of sugar and teaspoon of cinnamon ) Press the sprinkle gently into the cake mixture...not too far...just enough to connect.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes...top should be golden brown and a skewer comes out clean.
