On the introduction to bread making course, learn the basics that will give you a better understanding to be able to produce great bread at home....

....During the course you will get stuck in and learn a variety of leavening, kneading and shaping techniques whilst producing breads including white cottage loaf, seeded soda bread, olive tear & share, pizza dough, and Chelsea buns.

Price: includes light refreshments and lunch.

All ingredients, equipment and recipes are provided by Shipton Mill.

The course starts at 9:30am but try and arrive by 9:15am.  The day will finish around 4:00pm.

You may cancel at anytime but if we are unable to fill the place then we will be unable to offer a refund. So please give us as much notice as possible.

Location: This course takes place in the test bakery at our Frampton Mill site in the village of Frampton-on-Severn, postcode GL2 7HE (click here for Google Map).

Due to Shipton Mill being a working mill visitors must wear suitable clothing (no shorts or skirts with exposed skin) and footwear (no heels or open toed shoes).

How should I store my flour and how long will it keep?

Ideally flour should be kept in a sealed container in a cool dry place with stable temperature. Typically white flour has a shelf life from milling of 12 months. Wholemeal flour will be good for 6 months. More ...
