A "Granary Style" loaf recipe for the Panasonic Automatic Breadmaker (SD-257)

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Quick yeast
  • 500 gram Organic Light Malthouse Flour (301)
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 20 gram Butter (cut into small pieces)
  • 333 gram Water (66.6% BP)
  • 4 Tbs Sunflower seeds

Method

  1. Place the ingredients into the breadmaker pan in list order (but not the Sunflower seeds)
  2. Place the Sunflower seeds in the Nut/Raisin dispenser
  3. Select Program: Whole wheat, Bake Raisin, XL (5:00 hours)
  4. If using timer set time
  5. Press Start

I have been searching for many years for a "Granary style" recipe without using "Granary" flour. At last I think that I have solved my quest, This is now my favourite Bread recipe!

note: I have also used Organic Three Malts & Sunflower Brown Flour (705) for this recipe with equally good results, just leave out the Sunflower seeds from the original recipe.
